About The Program

Christmas Backpacks for Appalachian Children started in 2001 with a Georgia Baptist Church assisting needy children in southern West Virginia. From there, the ministry spread across the Southeast and Northeast. Several SBC state conventions, associations, and local churches continue the ministry today.
Appalachian Children Ministry (ACM) is focused on a neglected area in Southwest West Virginia and Eastern Kentucky. Working with churches in Alabama, Florida, and Georgia, Wolffork Baptist Church has collected resources and Christmas Backpacks for the targeted area. ACM was formed to expand the ministry by involving more churches in collecting and distributing the Christmas Backpacks. We invite you as individuals and churches to join us in this great mission.
